In a new special for Vanity Fair entirely dedicated to the next film of the talkative mercenary and the trio Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman And Ryan Reynoldsthe director of Deadpool & Wolverine explained why in the film released on July 24, Wade will remain the only character to break the fourth wall, while Logan will have to continue to adapt to the rules of classic narration.

Many actors join Deadpool’s team and think they finally have the chance to talk on camera and break the fourth wall” commented Levy. “But I’m disappointed, here we have our very precise rules, and this is what allows Deadpool to remain one of a kind as a character”.

Reynolds confirmed what Levy said and added:

Sorry, those are the rules. Very precise rules. You would diminish the value of breaking the fourth wall if everyone in the film had the ability to do it and was aware of this meta aspect of the product. Deadpool remains the only character capable of doing this. If everyone did it, his character would lose value. Furthermore, you have to be able to believe that the bad guy is really a bad guy. As well as the character who is your sidekick. Deadpool obviously undermines this system, this narrative hierarchy, but only because the audience doesn’t have to take him seriously.

Finally, Jackman concluded by throwing it into laughter and the rivalry of the two characters on the screen:

Ryan describes Deadpool’s brain perfectly, like a half-cooked omelet. So whatever he does – talk to the camera or to Wolverine – is just another layer of all the annoying crap I have to put up with. Who knows what the hell he’s thinking or doing? It doesn’t matter, it’s just another good reason to punch him and break his face.

Deadpool & Wolverine will arrive at the cinema in Italy on July 24th, we at Badtaste.it we will see it in preview at midnight at the Cinema Arcadia in Melzo. Find all the information on the Marvel Studios film in our profile.
