The new Jurassic Park film, which will feature the former star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Scarlett Johanssonhas officially begun filming ahead of the release date set by Universal Pictures to July 2025.

The film, directed by Gareth Evans, author of The Creator, Godzilla and Star Wars: Rogue One, will be shot for a month in different locations in Thailand, which will host the crew from 13 June to 13 July, and once the outdoor filming is finished it will move to the studios in Malta and the United Kingdom. As confirmed by the director general of the country’s Department of Tourism, Jaturon Phakdeewanit, in Thailand the film will be shot in Bangkok, Trang, Phang Nga, Phuket and Chiang Maiand for an entire week he will also film near the Huai To waterfall, inside the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in the province of Krabi.

Produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, the new Jurassic Park will include Scarlett Johansson in the lead role as well as Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono. The film is written by David Koepp, author of the first two films in the saga directed by Spielberg, and is advertised as “a completely new version that relaunches the saga into a new Jurassic era.” Based on new information the protagonists will be three adults and three teenagers stranded on an islandwhile names such as “Jurassic World 4” or “Jurassic City” have been circulating for the title.

The release date is set for July 2, 2025.
