After years of crisis and box-office flops, it’s time for Pixar to make a comeback and the opportunity could be the sequel to Inside Out
To try to get out of his black crisis, the Pixar intends to start again immediately from the sequel to one of his greatest recent successes, Inside Out 2. While we wait for it to arrive in theaters, the debut score on has just been released Rotten Tomatoes.
With its new film, the studio has the opportunity to put behind it a series of box office flops and bad moves that did not meet the expectations of its loyal audience. From disappointing films like Onwards And Luca to others like Red and Lightyear – The true story of Buzz, passing through Elemental, which at least has experienced a second youth thanks to streaming.
While the first reviews of Inside Out 2 see critics praising Pixar’s latest film as a “return to the great masterpieces” of the studio, the debut score on Rotten Tomatoes, at the time of writing, has settled at an excellent 92% favorable reviews.
What is Inside Out 2 about?
The new Disney/Pixar effort returns to the mind of teenage Riley just as the headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something completely unexpected: new thrills! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, which have long been running a successful operation by all accounts, they will have to welcome Ansia who, apparently, will not be alonebut it will be accompanied by other very specific emotions regarding adolescence.

To give voice to the new character of Ansia, in the original version, will be Maya Hawke, while Amy Poehler will return as Joy, Phyllis Smith will be Sadness, Lewis Black will voice Anger, Tony Hale will voice Fear and Liza Lapira will give her voice to Disgust. Inside Out 2 is directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, from a screenplay by Dave Holstein and Meg LeFauve. The release in Italian cinemas is scheduled for June 19th.
