Shea Whighamwhich in Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning played Jasper Briggs, had a chat with THR and predicted big things for Mission: Impossible 8.

The actor, in fact, spoke about the end of filming and the work that still remains to be done:

It took four years in total. I consider myself lucky to have worked on projects like this, but yes, we’re done. Tom didn’t finish, obviously, seeing that Mission Impossible 8 will be released next May. On the set of Dead Reckoning I told Christopher McQuarrie (the director) that I wouldn’t want a bigger dressing room, better catering or more money from my salary. What I wanted was at least one scene with me and Tom, written by him as it were The usual suspectsand that’s what he did.

We shot this scene together and Tom then took me out to dinner and, eventually, we realized that the film was coming out exactly one year from that night. Tom told me: “Do you realize that the movie comes out exactly one year from today? And I think we’re going to have to work our ass off to finish it”.

I couldn’t believe it. The entire cast was done by now and had gone back to their busy schedules, but he continued and told me that he would have to work on it all summer.

I don’t know how he manages to do it all and do it this way. What he is doing now for Mission…people will be shocked by what they see. He wanted this to be a good adventure film and both he and McQuarrie had clear ideas from the beginning about how to make it happen. It will be great.

Mission: Impossible 8 will be released on May 23, 2025. Here you can find the film profile.
