May 4th is a special date for all fans of Star Wars! In fact, Star Wars Day is celebrated all over the world, a day dedicated to the most beloved star saga of all time. But why on May 4th? The assonance between “May the Fourth” (i.e. “May 4th” in English) and the iconic Jedi motto “May the Force be with you” made this date particularly significant. Since 1977, the year of release of the first film in the saga, “Star Wars”, winner of 7 Oscars and capable of giving life to a film universe that still fascinates more than one generation
This year, Milan will be the city chosen for the great Star Wars Day celebrations! Here are the main events that will take place during the day
Arcimboldi Theatre
Saturday 4 May, from 2.30pm to 6pmat Arcimboldi Theatregathering of all the fans called together by the figures of the Star Wars costume groups officially recognized by LucasFilm: the imperial soldiers of the 501st Italica Garrison, with Dath Vader and the Emperor specially arrived in the city, the rebels of the Rebel Legion Italian Base, the Mandalorians of the Ori’Cetar Clan, the lightsaber fighters of Saber Guild, the sith of The Dark Empire and the little padawans of the Galactic Academy, the group reserved for children under 18. Star Wars Day, the 10 best LEGO sets to give and treat yourself
Bicocca district
At 4.30pm a spectacular will also be held parade in the spaces of the Bicocca district to see all the participants parade with their magnificent costumes which perfectly reproduce those used on the sets of the films.
Gae Aulenti Square
LEGO® Star Wars™ area: Until May 5th, Piazza Gae Aulenti will come alive with a special LEGO® Star Wars™ themed play area. You will be able to build your favorite characters, participate in creative workshops and admire an exhibition of original sets created by AFOLs (Adults Fans of LEGO).
FAO Schwarz – Via Orefici
From 4pm to 7pm, a special Jedi Academy session organized by the Toy Ambassadors and the FAO Schwarz Toy Soldier who will guide young aspiring Jedi in search of their own strength, interpreting the tale of tradition and undertaking an intergalactic journey with challenges to decipher the hidden message and receive the key to access the Initiation Rite. In fact, the story goes that a Padawan, once trained by his Master, was put to the test to reach the rank of Knight of the Republic and the same will happen at FAO Schwarz to the most promising young Jedi aspirants who will be able to receive personalized Jedi diplomas accompanied by these solemn words: “We are all Jedi. The Power speaks through us. Through our actions, the Force speaks of itself and all that is real. We are here to bear witness to what the Force says. By the power of the Council, by the will of the Force, I declare you, Jedi, Knight of the Republic. May the force be with you!”
