His days in the MCU may be over, but Robert Downey Jr. he still has the soul of a superhero. The actor, fresh from winning the 2024 Oscars, did not hesitate to intervene publicly in defense of colleague Chris Hemsworth after the publication of the recent interview for Vanity Fair which amazed the Marvel fandom.
In the article, Hemsworth he openly declares himself repentant of his performance in Thor: Love and Thunder by Taika Waititi, going so far as to state: «I got involved in improvisation until I became a parody of myself». Not only that: the Australian actor revealed that he had an ambivalent relationship with the God of Thunder and that he had often been frustrated with storyline that were assigned to him. «I read my colleagues’ jokes and thought: “They gave them cooler things. They have funnier scenes. And what does my character do instead?” – he said. – Yes, ok, I was part of this big world, but probably I was easy enough to replace».
Robert Downey Jr. is not of the same opinion and immediately came to support his friend and colleague, defining his performances in films such as Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers Endgame “masterstrokes”.
