Welcome Live Action: the streaming news for April (20-04-2024)

Having the curiosity to see some Japanese drama or film… but not knowing how or where to find the subtitles in Italian.
Relaxing for a moment on the sofa with the desire to watch something on TV, having all the possible streaming platforms available… without even knowing what you’re looking for, in truth.
Questions that we have probably all asked ourselves on more than one occasion, sometimes dismissing them with the idea that “watching Japanese and Asian dramas is too complicated, I give up.”

With the increasingly widespread advent of streaming opportunities, instead, tune in to Japanese dramas and films it has never been easiernor had there ever been one like this before in our country wide possibility to range between titles and genres of very different fields.
Indeed, of series broadcast in conjunction with the Japanese television broadcast.

This is why you will find here a periodic appointment dedicated to all live action newsthat is to say Japanese dramas and films and to a lesser extent Asians, arriving in Italy on the most common online streaming platforms: no more doubts, since we will provide the ad directly update you periodically on the new titles of Netflix, Rakuten Viki, Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+but also structures such as MyMoviesOne (containing Fareastream), RaiPlay And NHK World.

In the year 1986, Ichiro Ogawa is a middle-aged man who works as a physical education teacher and advisor to the middle school baseball team. He is nicknamed “Ogawa from hell” due to his often inappropriate attitudes and offensive comments. At home, the man is just a single father who raised his daughter alone after his wife’s death due to illness and who worries about her. Then, the man finds himself traveling forward in time to 2024: here he meets several people, including the single mother Nagisa Inushima, who works at a television station. At the same time, in 2024, Sakae Sakisaka is a feminist sociologist who frequently appears in the media to bring attention to gender and related discrimination issues. With her son, they find themselves catapulted back in time to the year 1986.

Curiosity:

Live action TV series that serves as a sequel to “Odd Taxi” and follows the adventures of two detectives, Reina and Satō.
Reina, a friendly and lonely nineteen-year-old detective who works in a small detective agency, teams up with the hapless but optimistic rookie Satō after an investigation into a small case, involving a strange taxi driver, leads them to be involved in a case much bigger.

• in 1990 the manga won 14th Kodansha Manga Award for the general category;
• the miniseries acts at the same time as a remake and a sequel to the film released in cinemas in Japan in September 2023″: the first four episodes focus on the story already seen in the film with the addition of new scenes. The remaining episodes instead focus on how the events continue;
• directed by Kohei Yoshino (Haken Anime) with the sumptuous music of the bravo Yoshihiro Ike (Dororo, Fune wo Amu);
• Shinzō Matsuhashi (Rurouni Kenshin, Kingdom, Golden Kamui) and the lead actor himself Takao Osawa they act as producers;
• in the cast, in addition to Osawa, let’s see Hiroshi Tamaki, Yosuke Eguchi, Aya Ueto, Asami Mizukawa, Tomoya Nakamura, Aoi Nakamura, Ko Maehara, Isao Hashizume and many other well-known faces, alongside some of the Canadian cast.

During the Cold War, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces jointly developed a nuclear submarine with the United States Navy. During its maiden voyage, the captain of the submarine Kaieda declares the latter’s sovereignty as an independent state named “Yamato”, causing an international diplomatic incident and bringing US-Japan relations to a breaking point.
