Very intense and entertaining match at the Unipol Domus between Cagliari and Lecce, with the final result of 1-1 which helps both teams to move the table with a view to safety. From Yerry Mina the advantage of the hosts, of Nikola Krstovic the equalizer in the second half.
The first half is entirely Cagliari-style. Ranieri’s men immediately keep the pace high and the pressing is all over the pitch, with scoring opportunities not long in arriving. In the 17th minute Deiola found the goal with a shot from outside, but referee Marcenaro disallowed it due to a previous touch of the hand. In the 26th minute, however, Yerry Mina the Unipol Domus explodes: Gaetano’s strangled shot, Salento’s defense is immobile and the ball scores thanks to the touch of the Colombian’s big plate. The first half, however, offers another surprise: Gaetano enters in a dangerous way, with his foot high, on Ramadani: the referee first draws the yellow only to then correct it to red after on field review.
The second half, despite the numerical inferiority, still sees Cagliari resist Lecce’s attacks. At least until the 84th minute, when Almqvist took on the role of assist man Nikola Krstovic who finds the 1-1 goal from a few steps away. A goal that takes away certainties from a very tired Cagliari and launches the Salento siege: within two minutes, Gotti’s men hit two posts with Baschirotto and Sansone.
