CinemaCon was impressed by the epic presentation film of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, but in recent hours the producers of the new chapter of the famous science fiction saga have touched it lightly by comparing the film to two masterpieces of today’s science fiction, Avatar and Dune.
Speaking to SFX magazine about what will distinguish the new installment of the Planet of the Apes franchise From the previous episodes, producers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who were also screenwriters of the acclaimed three previous films in the franchise, have focused on the new status quo of Earth, as this new film will be set centuries after The War: Planet of the Apes.
“Well, the world has changed a lot since the previous film“said Jaffa and Silver.”Thematically it asks different questions and the characters are different. Furthermore, I believe that this movie can compete with the Avatar or Dune shows: It’s visually stunning, there’s nothing like it in gro, really. This type of cinematic experience will allow you to discover a completely new world. Yes, it’s our world, the world of the Planet of the Apes saga, but this time it seems different. It’s a beautiful film, anchored by wonderful characters that you really get attached to. Yes, you have this epic landscape, but none of it works unless it’s anchored by great characters and a compelling story.“
