No one is missing anymore. Thanks to the new revelations reported in the last few hours, the cast of the new Superman directed by James Gunn it should really be in full force: after learning who will play Clark Kent’s father, we now also know who will play the role of his mother Martha.
In recent days we have in fact learned that Pruitt Taylor Vince will play Jonathan Kent, also known as PA Kentthe adoptive father who welcomes the little alien to the planet Krypton after finding him completely by chance in his spaceship in the prairies of Kansas. But as all fans know, there can be no Clark Kent or Superman without Ma Kent.
Foreign sources report that the director and screenwriter, as well as the new head of the DC Universewould have chosen to entrust the role to actress Neva Howell. Best known for roles in Burden, Run the Race And The Residentas well as for the series The Originalstakes the place of Diane Lane who played the character in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice And Justice League.

Previously, Ma Kent was played by Phyllis Thaxter in the film by Richard Donner of 1978, therefore from Eva Marie Saint in that Superman Returns directed by Bryan Singer in 2006. Also don’t forget the version seen in the series Smallvillewhere Superman’s adoptive mother was played by di Annette O’Toolean actress who curiously played the role of Lana Lang in Superman III.
The “holy family” is thus complete: as known, David Corenswet was chosen as the main protagonist, supported by Rachel Brosnahan like Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo like Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce will play Perry White of the Daily Planet, Nathan Fillion it will be a version of Green Lantern and we’ll see Isabela Merced like Hawkgirl. She is also joined by other well-known characters from the franchise such as Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), The Engineer (Maria Gabriela De Faria) And Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan)in addition of course to Lex Luthor who will be played by Superman in Superman Nicholas Hoult.
