Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios they gave a very rich presentation at CinemaCon Las Vegaswith big previews on Deadpool & Wolverine, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts* and even The Fantastic 4, but the big absentee of the evening is causing fans to discuss.

We are obviously talking about Blade, the ‘cursed’ film with Mahershala Ali: apparently, in fact, Kevin Feige hasn’t even mentioned the film that has been in production for many years now, which has obviously thrown fans into despair again, and right now which the latest rumors had given rise to hope for a possible start date for filming.

First announced at SDCC ’19, the development of the Mahershala Ali-led Blade reboot was literally a nightmare: screenwriter Michael Green is the sixth writer called by Marvel to work on the screenplay of the film, without counting the directors who have followed one another at the helm of the film and the multiple delays accumulated by the production and the threats (according to rumors) from Mahershala Ali to leave the film. The currently scheduled release date is November 7, 2025but the film’s total absence from the CinemaCon presentation doesn’t seem to bode well from this point of view.

However, the rumors had spoken of a filming start date of late 2024so perhaps there is still hope to avoid a postponement to 2026, especially if the film is truly ‘a small project’ without big special effects and dark, R-rated atmospheres.
