An American love story coming to the Visionary

An unmissable event for all art lovers: for just two days, Tuesday 09 and Wednesday 10 April, at the Visionario in Udine (at 3.05pm and at 7.10pm) and at Cinemazero in Pordenone (at 7.00pm) the documentary by Phil Grabsky Hopper – An American Love Storydedicated to the great painter who, more than any other, was able to describe the geography of emotions, solitude, silence and waiting.

Hopper’s America is popular, silent and mysterious, capable of influencing painters like Rothko and Banksy, filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock and David Lynch, but also photographers and musicians. But who really was this thoughtful artist and master storyteller? The documentary directed by Phil Grabsky analyzes in depth Hopper’s art, his life and his personal relationships, from his beginnings to his relationship with his wife Jo, who abandoned her promising artistic career to be his manager. And again the success of his canvases, the enigmatic personality behind the brush, the ability to investigate solitude like no one before him had managed to do, so much so that, decades later, he dialogued even with those who found themselves secluded, alone , isolated.
