Beau Willimon and Dawn of the Jedi
The news comes from The Hollywood Reporteran absolutely authoritative source, which reports that the playwright and screenwriter was called to work on the screenplay of Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedithe film to be directed by James Mangold. “When I started talking to Kathy [Kennedy] to make one of these films, what came to mind was to think about what kind of film within Star Wars I would like to make”Mangold said at the time. “And I thought of a biblical epic, like the Ten Commandments, about the dawn of the Force. Where did the Force come from, when did we discover it, when did we learn to use it?“.

The one with Rise of the Jedi will not be the first experience of Willimon in the galaxy far, far away. The screenwriter worked on the first season of the acclaimed TV series Andor. Beau Willimon is in fact the creator of House of Cards, set in the corridors of Washington DC, which was one of the most acclaimed series of the mid-2010s and helped increase the popularity of Netflix as a streaming platform. He also co-wrote the George Clooney and Ryan Gosling political thriller The Ides of March and created the Hulu space drama The First.
