Paramount+ announces the debut date of the new cycle of episodes of the TV series.

The great return of Jeremy Renner after the bad misadventure of a year ago, his days are numbered. Paramount+ announced that the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, the crime thriller in which the Hollywood star plays the role of the “mayor” of the town of the same name in Michigan where the prison system is the only thriving industry, will debut on June 2 (the date has not yet been confirmed in Italy ). The streaming service also released the first teaser trailer.

Mayor of Kingstown: What awaits us in season 3

Mayor of Kingstown will return to screens approximately 18 months after the serious accident involving Renner, who was hit by his own snowplow on his Lake Tahoe property while trying to save his nephew who was about to be hit. In the accident the actor suffered eight broken ribs in fourteen places, as well as various fractures to the knee, tibia, ankle, clavicle and shoulder, as well as the dislocation of the jaw and mandible, the collapse of a lung and perforation of the liver by a rib. After 16 days in hospital and a long rehabilitation, Renner returned to the set of the series earlier this year, later writing about Instagram: “Today I feel nervous. I hope everything works out so we can actually make it for our production and, more importantly, for the fans.”

In season 3, a series of explosions will shock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mafia will set up shop in town and a war on drugs will rage inside and outside the prison walls. All the pressure will be on Mike McLusky (Renner) to end the war, but things will get complicated when a familiar face from his past threatens to undermine his attempts to maintain peace between all the factions.

As we know from previous news, Paula Malcomson (Ray Donovan), Richard Brake (Absentia) And Denny Love (Looking for Alaska) joined the recurring cast with the roles of Anna Fletcher, a woman from Kingstown with a special request for Mike; Merle Callahan, one of those responsible for the Anchor Bay shooting who is serving a life sentence; and Kevin Jackson, a rookie prison guard. Michael Beach has been promoted to the regular cast and will reprise his role as Captain Kareem Moore full-time. We’ll see again Natasha Marc And Rob Kirkland as Cherry and Captain Walter. While Dianne Wiest she will no longer be Mariam McLusky.
