Moments of fear on a Regional train headed to Bologna from Pianoro. A 25-year-old attempted to rob a traveler threatening her and the travellers who rushed to help her with a knife. Thanks to the intervention of the railway police, the boy was stopped and arrested.

The incident dates back to the afternoon of June 30. The girl was traveling to the central station on a train packed with passengers for the summer holidays and the stage of the Tour De France in the city. Suddenly, she was attacked by the 25-year-old, an Italian resident in the Bologna area, who tried to tear off the necklace she was wearing. When the victim tried to react and prevent the robbery together with some travelers who came to her aid, the young man pulled out a folding knife and began pointing it at those present, threatening them.

Informed of the emergency, it was the train conductor who sent out the emergency call. When he arrived in Bologna, the 25-year-old found the police officers waiting for him on the platform. Polferwho pounced on him and managed to block and disarm him despite the young man’s attempts to resist the police. The boy was then transported to the police station: during the investigations it emerged that he had previous convictions for property crimes, resistance and assault. He was declared under arrest and taken to the Dozza prison.

On the same day, the station was the scene of another crime episode: on Sunday evening, in front of a tobacconist’s shop opposite Piazza delle Medaglie d’Oro, a 32-year-old was stabbed for reasons that are still unknown. A few days ago, an 88-year-old had suffered a mugging (later foiled) in the nearby Galleria 2 Agosto.
