Reggio Emilia, 1 July 2024 – A violent episode, yet another, in the historic station area. A short while ago, around 10pm, in via Eritrea, on the corner with via Alai, a person was left seriously injured. For reasons that are still unclear, there was an attack by a Moroccan on a compatriotThe boy who was hit (witnesses say it was a bottle blow, others say it was a stab wound, but it could also have been a very strong punch) remained lying on the ground. Those who were there tell of a lightning attack: the other one came closer and hit the boy, then escaped.
Those who witnessed the scene immediately called 118 and the police, ambulance and patrol car arrived within minutes. The boy, aged about 20 yearshe was on the ground, bare-chested, the paramedics tried to stabilize him.
Now, the victim is in the Emergency Room in serious conditions. Staff of the Flying Squad Preccint from Reggio is with him in the hospital.

Violence is becoming the norm – residents say -, now we hardly pay attention to it anymore, we risk becoming indifferent. They didn’t do anything before and we doubt they will do it now. The situation has degenerated in the meantime despite the raids. The situation is explosive. We ask once again for a fixed presence of the police force in this area in particular, between via Eritrea, piazzale Marconi, via Alai, viale IV Novembre, as you can see, the patrol cars that pass by every now and then are not enough”.
