The international competition “Ibla Grand Prize” returns for its 33rd edition

The 33rd edition of the Ibla Grand Prize, the prestigious international music and singing competition, will be held in Ragusa Ibla from 7 to 11 July 2024. Promoted by the Ibla Foundation and directed by maestro Salvatore Moltisanti, this event represents an important opportunity for young musical talents from all over the world to perform in front of an expert jury made up of conductors, producers and impresarios. The winners will have the opportunity to perform in major theaters in Europe, Asia and America, a unique opportunity to launch an international career.

Event structure and program

The competition is divided into different categories, with performances taking place in the historic locations of Ragusa Ibla, making the event not only a musical but also a cultural experience. The artists will perform in the following venues:

  • Donnafugata Theater: 7 and 8 July, from 8.30pm to 11.30pm.
  • Falcone Borsellino Hall: July 7, 8, 10 and 11, from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
  • San Vincenzo Ferreri Auditorium: from 7th to 11th July, from 8.30pm to 11.30pm.
  • Courtyard of Palazzo Ottaviano Bruno: 7, 8, 10 and 11 July, from 9pm.
  • Villa Anna in Ispica: 9 July, free entry gala concert.

Artistic director Salvatore Moltisanti underlined the importance of the event, stating that every year the Ibla Grand Prize celebrates international musical talent in a suggestive setting like Ragusa Ibla, promoting music as a universal language that unites. The mayor of Ragusa, Peppe Cassì, expressed enthusiasm for the cultural enrichment that the event brings to the city and for the important showcase offered to young international talents. Patrizia Valenti, commissioner of the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Ragusa, also highlighted how supporting the event represents an investment in culture and in the local community.
