There are just over two weeks to go until the start of the Taranto Jazz Festival, now in its fifth edition, a regular fixture in the Taranto summer. The event will be held from July 18 to 21 at the Arena Villa Peripato in Taranto and promises an “experimental” edition that, in addition to jazz, will also explore singer-songwriter music, blues, country and other musical genres.

The festival will open on Thursday, July 18 with a performance by Chiara Civello, a Roman multi-instrumentalist who is celebrating ten years since the release of her album “Canzoni” (Sony Music). This album, fundamental to her career, is a jazz tribute to great artists such as Sergio Endrigo, Umberto Bindi, Pino Donaggio, Paolo Conte, Vinicio Capossela and Vasco Rossi.

Friday, July 19th will be the turn of Tosca, who returns to the festival after the first edition, this time accompanied by a sextet. Her tour “La Bella Estate” celebrates thirty years of career with a concert that combines famous songs with new proposals, offering a show full of warmth and energy.

On Saturday 20 July, for the first time in Taranto, Marco Castoldi, known as Morgan, will perform. The musician will appear only on the piano, offering a tribute to the great Italian singer-songwriters and including classical music pieces and original compositions in his repertoire, such as his recent “Rutti”.

The closing of the festival, on Sunday 21 July, will feature an unexpected guest: Joe Bastianich. Known to the general public for the show “Masterchef”, Bastianich is also an eclectic musician. Together with the Neapolitan band La Terza Classe, he will present a project that ranges between rock, blues, soul and American folk.

The Taranto Jazz Festival thus confirms itself as an unmissable summer event, capable of offering the public a varied and high-quality musical experience.
