Via Vittorio Veneto reopens after a year

It was supposed to be a temporary closure, lasting about a month and a half. However, exactly one year later, via Vittorio Veneto, in Barletta, reopens, affected by the works on the second station front commissioned by Ferrotramviaria. An artery that has been completely redeveloped: with two lanes widened compared to the past, wider pavements, a roundabout to allow for U-turns, adequate lighting, a new white sewer and parking spaces for coaches which will allow for more comfortable tire-train exchange. The pedestrian passage that connects Via Vittorio Veneto to Piazza Conteduca is also accessible again, bringing the center and outskirts of the city closer again

Via Vittorio Veneto reopens but the construction site continues. The second track of the Bari-North and the station building equipped with ticket office and public toilets remain to be completed and will become operational when the railway service is reactivated; the ramp for the disabled will be completed by the end of the month although the pedestrian underpass will only be accessible again to people with reduced mobility in April 2025, once the construction work on the lifts by RFI has been completed. The start of the construction site for the underground car park is also approaching according to an improved project with revised costs, explains Cannito. And we finally have a date for the opening of the Via Vittorio Veneto underpass.
