Yellow weather alert in Milan and Lombardy, with the heat, thunderstorms also return

The Natural Risks Monitoring Center of the Lombardy Region has issued a yellow (ordinary) alert for thunderstorms from 2pm today Monday 1 July until midnight. The Municipal Civil Protection Operations Center will be active for monitoring the Seveso and Lambro rivers.

In an Italy still divided, between the South in the middle of summer and the North still at the beginning of the season, the first warm days also return temporal which have been affecting Milan and Lombardy for months now. The Natural Risk Monitoring Centre of the Lombardy Region has in fact issued a yellow alert (ordinary) for temporal from 2pm today, Monday 1st July, until midnight. The Municipal Operations Center (COC) of the Civil Protection will be active for monitoring the hydrometric levels of the rivers Seveso and Lambro and to coordinate any interventions in the city.

“During the weather alert, citizens are asked not to stop in underpasses, in the flood risk areas of Seveso and Lambro, under and near trees and near construction site scaffolding, dehors and tents”, say the Civil Protection. “It is also important to pay attention to meteorological phenomena during outdoor eventsin order to prevent dangerous situations. Citizens who wish to always stay informed about meteorological risks can connect to the Civil Protection alert system by registering at the link or downloading the free app for IOS and Android operating systems”.

The places affected by the yellow alert they are Lario and the Western Prealps, Orobie Bergamasche, Valcamonica, Lakes and the Eastern Prealps, the hydraulic hub of Milan and the entire Po Valley.
