On Thursday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m., “The Artist” School in Velletri held its end-of-year recital. The boys and girls involved in the many artistic-cultural disciplines included in the school’s educational offering met in the Paolini Angelucci Hall of the Diocesan Museum of Velletri for an exciting afternoon. For them, it was a great opportunity to perform in front of a large audience and show the progress made during the year. Veronica De Marchis, owner and manager of the school, welcomed them and complimented the teachers and students for their commitment day after day.
The program included performances by students for various disciplines: first creative writing, then piano, then singing and finally the theater workshop. For the creative writing course, held by teacher Simona De Marchis, Linda Maria De Santis (with the work “Felicia”) and Samuele Simonelli (with the work “Operazione Omega”) read their respective stories – the result of meticulous work on the text and an equally free imagination. For the piano course, held by Maestro Carlo Trenta, all students performed two pieces on the piano, both independently and with the teacher: in order, Alessandro Capone, Daniel Vitrano, Andrea Carol Bastari and Brando Nanni played. The ease with which they performed in front of a large audience was striking, with their delicate touches on the keyboard showing great confidence with the instrument and above all without making even the slightest mistake. An even more remarkable result if you consider that for some of them it was just a few months of lessons.
Giulia Orlandi’s singing course, on the other hand, saw Beatrice Leoni singing – who tried her hand at “Se rainfall il tuo nome” by Elisa, a very complicated piece, and Samuele Simonelli, with “Vai” by Alfa, another song difficult especially due to the constant changes in vocal register. The teachers Carlo Trenta and Giulia Orlandi also performed, before the theatrical performance that closed the evening.
On stage is the absolutely unique act by Claudio Leoni, “Strawberries with cream”, a comedy with humorous and nonsense features which with continuous plot reversals starts from an announced execution and ends with the breaking of the fourth wall. The show, with the musical accompaniment of maestro Carlo Trenta, saw on stage, together with maestro Leoni himself, Annalisa Cagioli, Linda Pettenuzzo, Melissa Domizzi, Michela Macchiarella, Davide Fiandra.
The evening ended with applause and now there is a lot of anticipation for next year’s programs which will once again see “The Artist” school at the center of the city’s cultural panorama with the many artistic and cultural proposals included in the training offer.
