The Cgil of Varese expresses opposition and alarm at the recent incursion of exponents of Casa Pound at the last session of Varese City Council, with the aim of hanging a banner against the mayor David Galimberti.
“It is not the first time that the far right has staged a squalid charade right in the civic heart of the city, in that Palazzo Estense which is a symbol of participation and democratic debate,” explains the CGIL note. “And it seems unacceptable that the new episode should take place right during a session of the City Council.”
In addition to hoping once again that the competent authorities will severely evaluate this incursion, «The General Assembly of the CGIL of Varese has expressed, with an order of the day, the most absolute condemnation of what happened, but also the most sincere solidarity towards the Mayor, the Board, the entire City Council of Varese, hit by an unacceptable provocation by those who make anti-democracy and contempt for the anti-fascist Constitution their banner – it concluded – The CGIL of Varese will strongly and always oppose the black wave that threatens our democracy, in Europe as here in Varese».
