This year too, it is worth choosing the other side of the Adriatic for your summer vacation. According to data released by Consumerismo No Profit, in fact, Albania is confirmed as one of the cheapest destinations for spending your vacation in the summer season. Especially when compared to the prices of the main Italian seaside destinations, starting with Puglia.
Assuming, for example, to organize a week-long vacation during the high season (from 10th to 17th August), for seven nights in a double room in one of the most famous seaside resorts in Albania, the minimum spend starts from 114 euros (in Vlora) up to 547 euros (in Dhermi). If, instead, the choice falls on exclusive or luxury structures, the maximum cost reaches 8,092 euros for a 500 square meter villa in Valona. Or it reaches 5,950 euros in the famous location of Himare.

In Salento from 700 to 12 thousand euros in August

The case of Italy is different. Again according to Consumerismo, in fact, in Gallipoli, a well-known seaside destination in the Lecce area, on the same days people would spend from 727 to 12,614 euros. Not much, in any case, compared to other Italian locations such as Porto Cervo or Amalfi, where, by choosing exclusive structures, you can spend up to 36,511 euros. Staying under “accommodation” and comparing six well-known Albanian seaside resorts with as many Italian seaside destinations, therefore, it emerges that on average, savings stand at 68.3 percent.

To the sea for 30-35 euros

The same goes for beach establishments. On weekends in August in Italy, in medium-level facilities, the cost of daily rental of an umbrella and two sunbeds is between 30 and 35 euros. But it can go up to 600 euros a day in the most exclusive establishments. In Albania, however, for the same services you spend around 8 euros in Durazzo or Himare, 10 euros in Borsh, 12 euros in Vlore, 15 euros in Dhermi. Up to a maximum of 20 euros in Ksamil. All with a average savings compared to Italian factories of 61 percent.

Connection costs

Even reaching Albania turns out to be cheaper, if compared to the costs of connections with our islands. As Consumerismo informs, taking a look at the ferries and assuming to leave with a car in tow from 9 to 17 August, the cost is 355 euros for the Bari-Durazzo route (494 euros on the Ancona-Durazzo route). The saving is 40.5 percent compared to the cost of the Civitavecchia-Olbia connection on the same dates, at a price of 597 euros. And the situation does not change when looking at flights: the Rome-Tirana route (departure August 10, return August 17), for example, starts at 96 euros per passenger, compared to 181 euros for the Rome-Cagliari route on the same dates.

At the restaurant with 20-28 euros

Finally, Albania is also more convenient on the catering front, with savings of around 60 percent. A complete fish-based meal in Albanian restaurants costs between 20 and 28 euros per person. In Italy, however, according to data released by Consumerismo, the same lunch (or dinner) costs between 50 and 75 euros.
