In the morning the initiative was presented at the Invitalia Network Hub at the Salerno Chamber of Commerce. From 4 to 7 July, 40 young talents will meet in Eboli for “Percorsi – Innovation Camp 2024”, the initiative promoted by GRUV srl Società Benefit, a “social impact” innovation lab that operates in the creation of projects in the field of sustainability, of innovation and participatory design.
“Paths – Innovation Camp 2024” is a free training and entrepreneurial development experience combined with explorations of the territory, dedicated to young people aged between 18 and 35. The training activities will be carried out in collaboration with HUB Rete Salerno. “Rete” is the project promoted by the Ministry of Sport and Youth through the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in collaboration with Invitalia. The initiative, sponsored by the Municipality of Eboli, the Province of Salerno, the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno and the Youth Culture Observatory of the University of Salerno, will be held in the Ancient Center of Eboli, from 4 to 7 July 2024.
Among the Partners of Excellence of the initiative Sellalab, the innovation platform of the Sella group and Fare Digitale, an association committed to the dissemination and valorization of digital culture. Ideas to respond to the challenges of Southern Italy The regions of Southern Italy face significant challenges such as depopulation, youth unemployment and poor valorization of cultural and landscape heritage. According to the Svimez 2023 Report, the population of Southern Italy will decrease from 33.8% to 25.8% of the national population by 2080, with a loss of over 8 million residents.
The youth unemployment rate (20-34 years) in the South, according to the “Youth Report 2024”, is approximately three times higher than that of the North (23.6% versus 9.1%). Furthermore, the ISTAT Report “Landscape and cultural heritage 2024” highlights that Campania is last in terms of current expenditure by Municipalities for the protection and valorisation of cultural and landscape assets, with a per capita expenditure of only €2.7, compared to an Italian average of €18.8.
Scheduled activities
Young talents, aged between 18 and 35, will challenge each other with innovation, accompanied by Tutors and Mentors in the development of innovative ideas (products, services or experiences). Each team will focus on one of the thematic areas Culture, Crafts, Sustainable Tourism, Digital, Storytelling, Green Economy, Social Innovation, Sports. The ideas must contribute to the development of the territory and the achievement of the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
The training and experiential activities will be held in Eboli, from 4 to 7 July 2024, at the Monumental Complex of San Francesco, in the heart of the Ancient Centre. The program includes business workshops, co-planning sessions, workshops, talks, training sessions, matching activities with local entrepreneurial realities and local discovery experiences. In the evening talks, concerts, networking and tastings to celebrate the connections and new ideas generated.
During the final evening, scheduled for Sunday 7 July starting at 7:00 pm, at the Monumental Cloister of S. Francesco in Eboli, each team will present their idea to a jury of experts, policy makers, citizens and local businesses. The competing ideas will be awarded with prizes and services offered by the initiative’s partner companies, which may include consultancy, mentoring, access to resources and specific tools for the enhancement of entrepreneurial ideas.
Furthermore, participants will be able to access a free accompanying course at the Salerno Network Hub (Chamber of Commerce of Salerno, via Clark 19) aimed at developing a business plan functional to the presentation of any applications for financing on incentives managed by Invitalia . This initiative represents a unique opportunity for young talents from Southern Italy to actively contribute to the rebirth of their territory, transforming challenges into opportunities and rewriting the future of their land.
