Dolomiti Bus press release

The connection between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Venice is now even easier and faster thanks to the services offered by Cortina Express and Dolomiti Bus. With national and international flights landing comfortably at Venice Marco Polo airport, it is possible to reach Cortina directly in just two hours by bus, without stops or intermediate changes.

“The strengthening of the connection between Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo was made possible thanks to the synergy between Dolomiti Bus and Cortina Express. We firmly believe in the importance of shared public transport, not only to facilitate the movement of tourists and residents, but also to reduce environmental impact.
This initiative represents a significant step forward for sustainable mobility in our territory, and we are proud to contribute to creating value for the environment and for the community”, declares Andrea Biasiotto, President of Dolomiti Bus. The new timetable which makes the journey even more comfortable and flexible.

Compared to the previous high season timetable, the new service introduces a ride departing from Venice to Cortina at 06:30 (Dolomiti Bus Line 72). This ride, combined with the one departing from Cortina to Venice, operated by Cortina Express at 17:30 on weekdays and at 20:00 on holidays, offers the opportunity to conveniently visit Cortina, Lake Misurina and Cima Tofana. In addition, a new ride has been added from Cortina to Venice at 14:30 (Dolomiti Bus Line 72). As for buses departing from Cortina, the first ride now leaves earlier in the morning (07:30), while the last ride from Venice has been postponed (19:30) to offer visitors more time.

The combination of these two trips and the partnership with Venetiana will allow you to leave from Cortina for Venice, visit Venice and its islands and return from Venice to Cortina. The new timetable, the result of the collaboration between Cortina Express and Dolomiti Bus, guarantees a more complete and distributed service throughout the day, significantly improving the coverage and flexibility of transport for travellers.

“We strongly believe in the union of two structured entities such as Cortina Express and Dolomiti Bus to guarantee increasingly intermodal mobility”, says Ellen Broccolo, operations director of Cortina Express. “On the one hand, in fact, the union guarantees ease of consultation and purchase of services for the user, on the other, by working on an integration of services, it is expected to make, through coincidence, other territories of the Province also connected to the Lagoon, creating an integrated mobility model that can respond 360 degrees to the needs of the resident population and tourists, starting from the journey to reach the destination and arriving at the on-site services”.

Services on board
The service is offered with Euro 6 buses, equipped with all the necessary comforts to ensure a pleasant and stress-free travel experience. Each seat has power sockets (220V) and USB, allowing you to charge your devices during the journey. The environmental sustainability requirements represent for Dolomiti Bus a ‘duty’ towards a territory, that of the province of Belluno, of extraordinary naturalistic value, affected by one of the nine Dolomite groups inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Moreover, since 2017, Dolomiti Bus has been a supporter of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation, through the promotion and offer of sustainable and integrated mobility in the Dolomite valleys, an element of attraction for residents and tourists.
