‘Arena Mancini’ has opened in the capital – in the renovated gardens of Viale Pinturicchio, in the Flaminio district – a public space redeveloped and returned to citizens by the Vite Culture Association. An area saved from degradation, among waste, stragglers and homeless people. An open-air landfill denounced several times over the years by residents and area committees which today returns to the city and the Romans.
There are many events scheduled at Arena Mancini, starting with a 10-metre maxi-screen which will allow you to see – with free entry – the entire calendar of the 2024 European Championships. There will be a rich film festival, which will range from the classics of Italian comedy to crime drama of the 70s, up to the crudest comedies that recounted the vices and virtues of Italians. There will be no shortage of special guests, including directors and actors, and evenings dedicated to the screening of award-winning documentary films and short films from all over the world. Alongside the screenings, various collateral initiatives: live music, DJ sets, stand-up comedy evenings, editorial presentations, photographic and contemporary art exhibitions, recreational and sporting activities and much more.
The iconic kiosk on the ‘Mancho’ square will enhance the Arena Mancini and its events, where you can taste craft beers – including Krombacher, this year’s Gambero Rosso Beer of Choice – have an aperitif and conveniently order your dinner. The gastronomic proposal is interesting and for the occasion it presents a renewed menu that winks at the 90s where the absolute protagonists will be the smash burgers, accompanied by tacos, homemade fried foods and international dishes. In the kitchen, the young chef Lorenzo Di Rocco, with a contemporary concept and open to contaminations ranging from Spain to the East. On the menu, a careful selection of wines that also includes a proposal of naturals and a drink list with signature cocktails. In the area there is also a play area where children can have fun while their parents enjoy the evening.
