Wall damage, restoration techniques: Engineers and Architects meet in Trani

Understanding the failures and the dilapidations of walls even in the absence of an earthquake, by studying the methods of investigation and the techniques of consolidation and restoration. This will be discussed today, Monday 1 July, from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Sporting Club of Trani (via A. Piazzolla 2) during the conference entitled “Behavior of masonry structures in the absence of an earthquake and after the earthquake”.

The day of work, organized by the Order of Engineers of the Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani and by the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Designers and Conservators BAT, will see the participation of Massimo Mariani, engineer and architect recognized as one of the leading experts in the sector seismic and consolidation and restoration of buildings in Italy and abroad. Author of important research in the sector published nationally and internationally, he was a professor of “Geotechnics and Geology Applied to Engineering Works” at the University of Perugia, president of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Perugia and councilor in the National Council of the engineers of Italy. He teaches in the Master’s level on the Consolidation and Restoration of damaged buildings at the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara and at the National Technical Service of Civil Protection for Earthquakes. The conference, moderated by Riccardo Virgilio, representative of the Structures Commission of the Order of Engineers of the Bat, will begin at 2.50 pm with institutional greetings from Antonella Cascella, president of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, and Andrea Roselli , president of the BAT Order of Architects and will see Mariani’s speech from 3pm.
