They will leave Thursday 4 July extraordinary maintenance works, improvement of accessibility to the railway service and technological upgrading by Italian Railway Network (lead company of the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Italiane Group) on the historic line Naples – Salernovia Torre Annunziata Centrale.
RFI’s interventions will concern the consolidation, waterproofing and seismic improvement of some bridges and viaducts, the suppression of the level crossing in Via di Pietrarsa through the construction of a new underpass, the removal of an artificial tunnel, as well as some interventions aimed at infrastructure spread along the entire railway line.
To allow the operation of the construction sites, railway circulation will be suspended in the following periods:
dal 4 July to 1 September between the Naples San Giovanni-Barra and Torre Annunziata Centrale/Castellamare di Stabia stations;
dal July 4th to 5th and from 28 to 29 August between the stations of Torre Annunziata Centrale and Nocera Inferiore.
Therefore, changes to the program are expected circulationwith cancellations and/or limitations for high-speed, regional and metropolitan trains. Further details on the traffic measures will be available on the railway companies’ sales channels.
Over 150 people will be employed for the work on the line, including RFI employees and contractors, for a total economic commitment of approximately 7.5 million euros.
