Green Schooner of Legambiente, After the first stop in Liguria, it continues its journey along the Peninsula to monitor the state of health of the sea and coastsand arriving in Tuscany. It will be in Livorno from 1 to 2 July and then in Florence on 3 July for the final press conference to present the monitoring data of Tuscan waters.

Now in its 38th edition, Goletta Verde will bring to the forefront among the main themes water purification, the protection of biodiversity, sustainable energy and the fight against the climate crisis and illegalities.

The program: from the Tartadogs exercise to the conference on biodiversity

The Tuscan stage will be full of events ranging from educational workshops to talking about biodiversity with projects Life Delfi and Life Elife (dolphins and sharks), Life Turtlenest (sea turtles) and Life SeaNet (the importance of marine ecosystems and actions to take care of our territories), to visits on board Goletta Verde, from the exercise of the Tartadogs, the first dog units created in Italy and Europe in a structured way for the research and safety of sea turtle nests, to meetings and conferences on current issues such as the Darsena Europa.

The Goletta Verde will be moored at Andana degli Anelli at the port of Livorno.

The events will open on July 1st Tartadogs’ morning exercise scheduled at 7.30 am at the beach of Calambroneorganized in collaboration with Enci – Ente Nazionale Cinofilia Italiana. Following, at 10 am, at the port of Livorno, a short meeting to talk about ‘Sea turtles, Tartadogs and Goletta Verde for the defense of the sea and its inhabitants’ and to take a ritual photo with your four-legged friends and the Legambiente crew.

On the same day, at 5 pm, on board the Legambiente boat there will be a short conference on ‘Marine biodiversity in Tuscany: critical issues and protection actions’, while on Tuesday 2 June, 10 am, at Sala Ferretti, after the greetings of the mayor of Livorno, the conference ‘Blue eyes on the Europa dock: ports, logistics, ecological conversion of maritime transport’ will begin.

The Goletta Verde crew will then move to Florence on Wednesday 3 July for the final presentation press conference of data on the quality of Tuscan watersand which will be held at 11 am at the ‘Libri Liberi’ bookshop.
