Notes and colors, sound and graphic harmonies, rhythms and sculptures. On Monday, July 1st in Foggia, the Monti Uniti Foundation will offer citizens a great immersive cultural event, between music and art, to celebrate the 50 years of activity of the artist Antonio Torquato Lo Mele.

At the venue in via Arpi, 152 (Sala Rosa del Vento) starting from 7pm the free entry concert ‘Music as the soul of art’ will be held, a musical proposal by the RitmArte percussion ensemble which includes the performance of ‘ Any other name’ by Thomas Newman (from the soundtrack of the film “American Beauty”), “What a wonderful world” by Bob Thiele and George Davis Weiss, plus a moment of rhythmic and melodic improvisations.

The musical evening will close the exhibition “Journey through thoughts, dreams and architecture”, hosted in the same premises, which has already registered a thousand visitors so far.

Those who have not yet done so will not only be able to admire Lo Mele’s paintings, graphics, sculptures and ceramics, but also to collect the catalogue containing a good part of his production for free. A volume edited by Gianfranco Piemontese and produced by the Foundation, with critical content by Guido Pensato, Gaetano Cristino, Gloria Fazia and Annalisa Marinelli.

The artist will be present at the finissage, who will entertain the public with some reflections on the genesis of creativity in art, the president of the Foundation, Aldo Ligustro, and the curator, Gianfranco Piemontese. The concert will be animated by Professor Rosanna Lo Mele together with percussionists Viola Digennaro, Gabriele Torraco and Simone Sorace.

Accompanied by rhythms and melodies, you can admire the many creations of the artist from Foggia: the home of a mythological giant, a city in verse, a boat that takes flight and much more. The common thread of the exhibition is the living space, understood as a place where life, mental and material, flows. The characteristic imaginative trait of Lo Mele merges with an architectural setting, to give life to creations halfway between dream and reality, between philosophy and scraps of everyday life.
