As part of the Policoro Project, promoted by the Italian Episcopal Conference, in collaboration with the Diocese of Molfetta-Ruvo-Giovinazzo-Terlizzi, is pleased to announce the establishment of scholarships for the year 2025. These scholarships, each worth € 3,120.00, are intended for the training of Community Animators selected by the Dioceses participating in the Project.

The Policoro Project is an initiative of the Italian Church born to respond to the problem of youth unemployment. Since its first meeting in Policoro, in the Province of Matera, on December 14, 1995, the project has promoted youth training and entrepreneurship through activities based on subsidiarity, solidarity and legality.
The scholarship supports training in the fields of work, entrepreneurship and territorial animation. The training program, lasting one year for a total of 300 hours, includes national and regional courses, diocesan training, e-learning and a summer camp. Participation in all training activities is mandatory.

Admission Requirements: Young people in possession of the following basic requirements may apply to participate:

  • Citizens of Italy or another member state of the European Union;
  • Non-EU citizens with a regular residence permit;
  • Age between 20 and 30 years;
  • Residence and domicile in one of the municipalities of the Diocese of belonging;
  • High school diploma;
  • Type B car license;
  • Good knowledge of the main computer programs.

Preferred Requirements: In addition to the basic requirements, the following will be considered preferential:

  • Ecclesial experience in the Diocese or in an association recognized at ecclesial level, preferably already involved in the Policoro Project;
  • Knowledge and interest in issues related to young people and work;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in leading youth groups;
  • Good communication and interaction skills through email and social networks;
  • Flexible hours and availability to participate in off-site training courses (travel, overnight stays, etc.).

How to Submit an Application: Applications for participation must be sent to the Diocese partner of the Project no later than August 31, 2024. The application, signed by the candidate, must include:

  • Application form shown in Annex 1 to the announcement;
  • Curriculum vitae sent by e-mail to [email protected].

Selection of Candidates: the selection will be carried out by a Diocesan evaluation commission. The selection process includes verification of requirements and conditions, followed by individual interviews. The dates and times of the interviews will be communicated to the candidates by email.

At the end of the training course, Inecoop will issue a certificate of certification of the skills acquired. Scholarship holders who successfully complete the training will have the opportunity to collaborate further with Inecoop and the Diocese, if the conditions for the renewal of the Project exist.
