On the roads of Italy there is also the third stage of the Tour de France 2024. From the Grande Depart of Florence, we crossed Tuscany, then Emilia-Romagna and today we arrive in Piedmont, arriving at Torino. Areas characterized by the many victories of another phenomenon of our cycling, the great champion Fausto Coppi to which this 231 kilometer stage is dedicated, the longest of the Tour, with a calm route waiting for the Alps.
After two stages in the Apennines, we return to the plan for the longest stage of the 2024 Tour with its 230 kilometers almost in line except for two more than climbable rough edges. A fraction that could therefore smile on the sprinters for the first time, in view of the real mountains with which the first week of the race will open.

All the stages of the Tour de France 2024, the most important and decisive ones also in full, will be broadcast free-to-air for all three weeks of the race on Rai, which has signed an agreement with the organizers of the Grande Boucle until the 2025 edition. On TV also for this third Italian stage, there will be the handover of the live broadcast between Rai2 and Rai Sport HD while for free streaming you can connect to RaiPlay. The Tour de France stage: Piacenza-Turin route and altitude
There are no major bumps for 230 kilometers that will be covered at significant speeds. All to prepare for the sprint finish in the Piedmontese capital that, just over a month after the start of the last Giro d’Italia, returns to the spotlight of great cycling. Three fourth-category Grand Prix to interrupt the rhythm but nothing that could worry a sprint finish. The first, with the best sprinters ready to take victory on the first occasion of this edition.
Due to the length of the stage, the start was brought forward to 11:15, with arrival in Turin expected around 17:00. The last 40 kilometers will be entirely covered on flat ground.

Obviously sprinters and there are several who can put their wheel ahead of others. The most anticipated and in form will be Jasper Philipsen of Alpecine.
