“Three teams in the third division after three years. Catania, Messina and Trapani warm up their engines for the new season
between dreams and waiting, with Sicily returning as the protagonist as in 2021-22 with Catania, Messina and Palermo.
The dreams are those of Catania and Trapani who, even though newly promoted, do not hide their ambitions to immediately achieve promotion to Serie B. The wait, however, is all of Messina who find themselves living yet another summer with the “for sale” sign in plain sight”.
Today’s edition of the Republic of Palermo dedicates coverage to the three Sicilian Serie C teams, taking stock of the transfer negotiations.
“The transfer market will officially open on Monday, but the Granata already have an agreement with striker Maguette Fall in the past season author of 16 goals with Giana Erminio. The signature will arrive next week and Fall will sign an agreement biennial with Trapani. As will Jacopo Murano, a centre-forward who is already looking for a home for his return to Trapani. In 2017-18, still in Serie C, Murano led the attack of a team that, with Calori on the bench, came close to promotion to Serie B twice, first during the regular season and then in the play-offs and now, more mature, at 34 years old he is ready to return to Trapani and take that cadetship that was missed six years ago. Another almost certain coup for Trapani is that of goalkeeper Andrea Seculin, in the last championship in Serie B with Modena”.
