Lamezia Terme – A few months have passed since the last proclamation but the work of training and cultural dissemination by the Italian Sommelier Foundation in Calabria continues without stopping: in fact, 35 new sommeliers awarded last June 26th in a packed room at Cantine Statti in Lamezia Terme. A large group of “graduated” wine ambassadors in the presence of the President of the Italian Sommelier Foundation in Calabria Domenico Pate who does not hide “enthusiasm and satisfaction with the ability of the Foundation in Calabria to ensure the training course with continuity”. Another 35 recent graduates are thus added, highlighting “the Foundation’s already important team in our region and enriching with their passion and professionalism the team of ambassadors of wine culture in our territory. The award ceremony of the two coveted diplomas issued by the Italian Sommelier Foundation and the Worldwide Sommelier Association, which concludes an educational journey characterized by 52 lessons divided into three parts (known as levels), took place at the end of a particularly intense and rich season of innovation, starting with the single-cycle courses, without interruptions and breaks between parts, successfully launched in various locations last autumn and currently ongoing”.
Furthermore, the new training offer will soon be revealed which will involve, through the Professional Qualification Course for Sommeliers, the Calabrian territory in the most widespread way possible and which will allow “conclude lessons quickly – reiterated the President Domenico Pate – in the name of solid didactic continuity and a method guaranteed by the Italian Sommelier Foundation, the Worldwide Sommelier Association and Bibenda”. The Oil Sommelier Course deserves a separate mention, announced in a particularly comprehensive format and featuring 28 meetings/lessons starting next autumn.
