PISA – As the program of this magnificent concert opens, we read: «Listen to this music of the East and the West, ingeniously collected by
Jordi Savall, it’s not just any experience. Because an even more intense feeling is added to the aesthetic emotion, that of communicating, by magic, with a reconciled humanity.” Here you are. This is what really happened last evening.

The Tuscan Festival of Ancient Music of which Charles Ipata is artistic director, it now represents an unmissable event for those who love quality music. And above all for those who appreciate the relationship between music and space. A space that multiplies emotions evoked by the sounds generated in it. A combination capable of allowing the public to enter a cosmos of well-being.

Now in its second edition, this musical festival offers a privileged condition that pervades the spirit and sensitivity of those who play and those who listen, making performers and audiences part of a single community.

The 13 concerts scheduled for this year, which continue until July 7, allow us to once again highlight this very special relationship. With music ranging from the depths of the Late Middle Ages to the “very baroque
Telemann, Vivaldi, Handel

Yesterday’s concert gave listeners an unforgettable experience. It is not too much to speak of a truly “exceptional event”. The program includes music from the 13th to the 15th century from the Mediterranean basin: Turkey, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, and then Armenia, Afghanistan…, masterfully interpreted by Jordi Savalla giant of early music and his ensemble. An engaging, penetrating music that seeks to highlight a great wave of pacification between countries often in conflict with each other.

This, precisely, is the message of the evening. That of “communicating, by magic, with a reconciled humanity”. Because art, music can be a vehicle “to break down that invisible wall that divides the planet between the frightened North and the desperate South”. And, let’s say it: for one evening Savall and its musicians, have succeeded. A music that keeps us hooked to a condition of well-being, of harmony. Glorified by an almost perfect execution. The versatility of
Savall and Psonisalternating with instruments with archaic sounds such as the rebab, the ribeca, the santur, or the oud.

The virtuosity of Güngör al Kanuna plucked instrument that catapults us into a fantastic oriental world. This mélange of sound has highlighted all the expressive abilities of the performers: the sounds sometimes subtle, almost imperceptible, up to the maximum of the timbric capabilities. Exceptional technical precision accompanied by a passionate performance, never exaggerated, without mania for protagonism. In short, an evening that will remain in the memory but above all in the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to be there.
