Robbery in Busto Arsizio: Three culprits identified and reported
The Busto Arsizio State Police have identified and reported three people responsible for a home robbery.
The crime occurred on the evening of November 26, 2023.
#### The Dynamics of the Robbery
A man resident in Busto Arsizio returned home with his minor daughter. Upon entering the house, he surprised three criminals intent on stealing. The thieves had forced a French door to enter.
The homeowner managed to block one. However, he had to let him go when another accomplice threatened him with a knife. The three thieves escaped through the window.
#### Key Elements for Identification
The victim provided a brief description of the three criminals. She noticed that they had acted with their faces uncovered and remembered the color of the getaway car used. A decisive element for the identification was a cell phone lost by one of the thieves during the escape. This cell phone had been used as a flashlight.
Although the phone card was registered under a false name, investigators worked with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to cross-reference data and information. They used phone records, local checks, and video surveillance systems.
#### Identifying Robbers
Investigators managed to trace the identity of the three criminals. These are Chilean citizens residing near Rome, but active throughout the national territory. They are suspected of committing predatory crimes and have previous drug-related offences.
The police reconstructed the movements of the three robbers. Two of them arrived in Busto Arsizio in a car rented in Lazio. The third arrived by train.
#### Trial of the Guilty
The three robbers have been reported and will go to trial in Busto Arsizio for the crime of residential robbery. Thanks to the careful work of the investigators, the culprits were identified and brought to justice.
