After the success of last season it is back “The Formula of Excellence”journey in stages of Ancient Formula to conquer the most beloved venues in the Belpaese. A calendar full of experiences dedicated to mixology professionals and enthusiasts, to tell the fascinating story and secrets behind the taste of the iconic Vermouth, symbol of elegance and Italianness.

The tour will arrive on July 5th in Campania with a special double date at Lazy of Sant’Anastasia (NA) in Piazza Trivio, 19: a sensory experience masterclass dedicated to professionals in collaboration with the Dishoom of London and a guest shift night with international guests such as Jake Odlum and Laura Simonelli representing the London venue.

“The Formula of Excellence” was born from the commitment of F.lli Branca Distillerie, which acquired the Carpano vermouth family in 2001, to spread knowledge about this made in Italy product, with a multi-stop journey in a selection of refined venues, recognized as excellences of local mixology and which fully reflect the style of Antica Formula.

The events dedicated to industry professionals, with masterclasses and guided tastings, will be presided over by Master Herbalist by Fratelli Branca Distilleries Matteo Bonoliwho will be accompanied during the days by international guest bartenders coming from the best clubs in London, Berlin and Edinburgh, exceptional guests who will bring their point of view and their personal method of mixing Antica Formula with exclusive signature cocktails.

The evenings open to the public, however, will include tastings of Antica Fomula with entertainment, ad hoc food pairing and an exclusive drink list signed by the international guest of that stage.

“Today, vermouth is experiencing a new renaissance and Antica Formula is the symbol of this new season.” he claims Matteo Bonoli, Master Herbalist of Fratelli Branca Distilleries. “What makes this premium product exceptional is its refinement combined with an unmistakable vintage style and, above all, a complex bouquet with notes of vanilla. and saffron. For this reason, it is perfect both on the rocks and as an ideal ingredient in classic cocktails, to which it gives a rounded and distinctive taste: a vermouth that has stood the test of time, making generations of enthusiasts fall in love and conquering the community of bartenders around the world.”

The rite of theItalian aperitifwhich has become part of our lifestyle and culture, began in Turin way back in 1786 when Anthony Benedict Carpano, herbalist and pharmacist, created the formula that would give rise to the Vermouth category, combining herbs and spices with wine. Carpano, sure of his creation, sent a case to King Vittorio Amedeo III who not only appreciated the gift but decreed its success: his business became popular, noblewomen and gentlemen of the time wanted to taste the new and trendy drink.

As time passed, the traditional recipe underwent evolutions, giving rise to the current Carpano and Punt e Mes. Giuseppe Bernardino Carpano discovered, in the drawer of an old desk of his grandfather Antonio Benedetto, an original recipe that had remained secret and hidden, belonging to his ancestor: this is how “Antica Formula” was born, faithful to the very first Carpano of 1786 and made maintaining the original artisanal processes. An authentic masterpiece dedicated to the most demanding customers and destined to become the flagship of the company in the years to come, the Italian Vermouth par excellence.
