“Sea without borders” is back. The sixth edition will be held from 1 July to 31 August

The “Sea without frontiers” project, promoted by the ASP of Ragusa together with eight municipalities in the Iblea province, aims to guarantee and improve accessibility to beaches for people with physical and mental disabilities. This initiative will start on July 1st and will last until August 31st. The activities will be managed by Samot Ragusa and Samot Onlus and will take place on the beaches of the participating municipalities.

Service

The social-health assistance service will be available every day, thanks to the presence of two operators for each of the ten stations identified. The assistance hours will be from 10.30 to 12.30 and from 16.30 to 18.30. The mayors of the municipalities involved will make available the spaces and the necessary equipment, such as gazebos and walkways, to facilitate access to the sea and users’ stay on the beach.

Last year, 261 people with disabilities benefited from this opportunity offered by the ASP, which is now proposing the initiative for the sixth edition.

People interested in using the service must show up with a companion at the pre-established point and it is recommended to make a reservation.
