An important meeting dedicated to the professionalizing degree for surveyors called Digital Technologies for Construction, Environment and Territory (TeDCAT) was held at the University Campus of Pavia. This degree course has been active at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pavia for two years, this university together with that of Genoa, will graduate the new surveyors.
It is a professionalizing course (it will no longer be necessary to pass the qualification exam) and can be carried out both in person and electronically, even while working. There are particular benefits for working students with recognition of university training credits for professionals based on their curriculum. working. The meeting was managed by Andrea Penna, President of the Teaching Council in Civil and Environmental Engineering and by Vittorio Casella, TeDCAT contact person. The professionalizing nature of the Degree, during the third year, includes an internship of approximately nine months in professional firms, companies or public bodies. Numerous organizations were present, including representatives of 15 Colleges of Surveyors from Piedmont and Lombardy who have signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Pavia. The president of the Regional Committee of Surveyors and WGs of Piedmont, Geom. Carlo Cane of Diano d’Alba and the president of the Regional Surveyors and GL Council of Lombardy, Geom. Fabio Signorelli from Pavia, presented to the students the professional activities they will carry out during this period, analyzing the new technologies present in the profession.
Everyone underlined how much the professional figure of the Graduate Surveyor is in demand in the world of work, a modern professional-entrepreneur with a key role in innovation and digital transition applied to the territory and the world of construction. For the purpose of correct knowledge of this context, we would like to remind you that the University Surveyor Course can be attended by graduates of the CAT (Construction, Environment, Territory, former Technical Institute for Surveyors) and numerous other institutes, such as, for example, the Scientific and Artistic High Schools as well as the similar technical training schools.
