Rome, 26 June. (askanews) – Journeys of the Heart hosted by Davide Banzato, on Sunday 30 June at 08.50 on Canale5 will take viewers to Calabria in the footsteps of one of the most venerated saints in the world: Saint Francis of Paola, patron saint of the city, patron saint of Calabria and also patron of sailors and boatmen. The episodes will also be broadcast on the international channel Mediaset Italia. Millions of pilgrims reach Paola every year to meet Saint Francis and every year many devotees gather for the festival in honor of the saint which lasts a long time four days. Many different paths – immersed in the beauty of nature – retrace the history and steps of Saint Francis and converge in Paola where the saint was born and where the Sanctuary dedicated to him stands. One of these paths is called “The path of the young ” and retraces the journey of Saint Francis to San Marco Argentano, where he wore the monastic habit for the first time. On this journey, viewers will be able to learn about the extraordinary story of Saint Francis of Paola starting from his bond with Saint Francis of Assisi to his journey from solitary hermit to founder of the Order of the Minims, an order which, already from its name, aims to underline the spirit of humility that characterizes his friars, who aspire to be the least before God. In today’s world where appearance and appearing are the only desire of many, the figure of this Saint who sought hiding and silence and who spent his life in the service of others, has so much to say to all of us. Also on this journey there will be experts and guides, together with the founder of the international Nuovi Orizzonti Association, Chiara Amirante, and the director of Famiglia Cristiana , Don Stefano Stimamiglio and the authors of Edizioni San Paolo for in-depth analysis of current affairs and for a space on the latest editorial releases.
