Antonio Conte he introduced himself as the new coach of Naples at the Royal Palace, addressing current issues in the management of the Italian club. Alongside president Aurelio De Laurentiis, the former technical commissioner of the national team responded to the questions of the journalists present at the press conference, focusing both on technical issues and generally on the near future of the club in view of the new season of redemption. Conte’s promise – “I can definitely promise seriousness, a word that is often underestimated. The seriousness in giving everything for Napoli, in transmitting what my culture is at a professional level, my mentality, my football ideas. The goal for a coach, beyond the fact of being able to excel at the end of the season and write history, is to make his players and his fans proud. The fan must recognize himself in the first team, our maximum goal is to make the fan truly proud of his players and the football played. The new face of Napoli – “My Napoli will have an angry face, because we have come from a difficult year. We must have temperament on the pitch from all points of view. As far as the transfer market is concerned, we will try to do the best things so as not to make mistakes and bring players here who can improve the squad.”
The blue project – “I chose Naples for the project, I signed a three-year contract. The president was very clear about what we can do based on situations compatible with the club. The project will be to try, in the shortest possible time, to make Naples once again a credible alternative to the usual ones: this is important and the president knows it. In these 14 years, we have won a Scudetto and returned to Europe. Today we have to start again, to rebuild and it will take a little time, a little patience. I am of the opinion that ‘those who have time don’t wait for time’, we will try in every way to take on this responsibility. I had some contacts from abroad, even interesting ones, but there was a conversation started with the president and a promise. With the bowls still in place, we decided to work together and direct the boat.”
