Only nine citizens present at the earthquake simulation on the Pozzuoli seafront
The mayor of PozzuoliLuigi Manzoni, commented on the presence of only nine fellow citizens at the Civil Protection stand set up on the seafront on the day dedicated to simulation of the earthquake, given the emergency that exists in the Phlegraean Fields. In Pozzuoli, around 200 reservations had been registered, but many people dropped out.
Manzoni himself expressed his feeling about the presence of very few people for a situation that is aimed at protecting the citizen in the event that it is necessary to act with the emergency plan:
“Everything that needed to be done – underlined the mayor of Pozzuoli – we are doing it without wasting time. I don’t feel like condemning anyone who didn’t come, I just want to understand with data in hand and work on the critical issues because here we are looking for a solution to any problem.
I also reflect on the fact that we are carrying out exercises and at the same time we are experiencing a state of emergency in Pozzuoli, so this could be one of the causes. Communication to citizens about this simulation has been made. Now I think we need to actually understand the reasons for this low participation.”
