the meeting between the unions and the administration

The trade union organizations of the State Police, yesterday Tuesday 25 June, met Rosa Maria Padovano, Olimpia Abbate and Jamil Sadegholvaad, respectively Prefect, Police Commissioner and President of the Province of Rimini, in the Palazzo Garampi headquarters, to discuss the housing emergency for policemen who serve in the area.

The Police unions have highlighted this unsolved problem that has afflicted the personnel of the State Police for years. In the province, rents are very high and there is a shortage of housing rented for long periods. This causes two consequences: on the one hand, an inadequate quality of life for the new assignees, who receive an average salary of about 1500 euros, and on the other, the flight of permanent personnel present in the territory for several years who, unable to find a home, decide to return to their countries of origin. In the Province of Rimini alone, it is estimated that this housing emergency has repercussions on a high percentage of colleagues. Furthermore, the personnel of the State Police, as shown by various statistics, are the ones most subjected to emotional stress intrinsic to the profession itself (type of service, hours, responsibility).

The unions now thank the institutional leaders of this Province for the commitment they have made to find both short and long-term solutions. In fact, only with a real sharing of intentions and an effective synergy between the unions and the institutional leaders will it be possible to respond significantly to the needs of the staff.
