The need to identify a new strategic approach to prevent accidents at work that can be translated into concrete actions on a regulatory, organizational, disciplinary and cultural level. Provision which sees President Latini as the first signatory and which was signed by all the groups
The unanimous motion of the Regional Council on actions to combat accidents at work was born from the recent and tragic news event that occurred in the countryside of Latina, which led to the death of a 31-year-old Indian laborer. The aforementioned accident, as stated in the preamble to the motion, is the latest episode in a bloody series of deaths and accidents that occur on an almost daily basis to the detriment of workers throughout the country. Considering that the institutions of the Marche region can also play their part in containing this sad phenomenon, the Regional Council unanimously approved the motion signed by all the group leaders, the first signatory being the President of the Assembly, Dino Latini.
With the provision, the Regional Council undertakes to encourage the strengthening of the staff and professionalism of the bodies responsible for controls regarding compliance with safety measures and prevention of accidents at work. We ask for a commitment to promote, in collaboration with Inail, the prevention departments at the Ast, Labor Inspectorate, Regional School Office, Professional Associations, Universities, trade union organizations and voluntary associations, information and awareness-raising interventions in companies and institutes of the Marche, university projects, conferences and studies to improve the health and safety conditions of workers and direct prevention policies in the area.
The act also asks the Regional Council to introduce reward provisions in favor of companies that ensure further and stronger protection for the prevention of accidents at work and to strengthen sanctioning measures for companies that are responsible for safety violations.
The mechanism concludes with the commitment to implement actions and measures to combat irregular work and the exploitation of workers, identify concrete measures to combat the phenomena of exploitation and schedule the examination of legislative proposals and measures relating to safety and legality in the world of work.
