There were economic reasons behind the double murder.
Murder for economic reasons
In the past, Luca Ricci had tried to start a craft business, helped financially by his father, which, however, had failed. To help their son repay his debts, his parents sold their family home, which ended up at auction. But the money was never enough, Luca Ricci continued to ask his parents for a ‘hand’. The murder, according to what has been reconstructed so far by the agents of the Pesaro Police Headquarters, occurred in the night between Sunday and Monday, more or less around 2 am. The mother, Lucia Marconi, would have asked for help from her son, who lives upstairs of the house, because she would have felt ill. The 50-year-old joins her, a quarrel breaks out, probably – this is the hypothesis – because they start talking about the denied money again. Luca Ricci at that point he would have strangled his mother with a stringthen he would reach the father who was in the bedroom, hitting him on the head with a hammer.
In the morning, Luca Ricci accompanies his son to school, then returns home and calls 112: his parents are found lifeless by the firefighters. He tells the police who arrive in via Fanella that his parents don’t answer him. But already yesterday afternoon, he was heard in the police station by the agents of the Homicide section of the Flying Squad: the interrogation will continue for 16 hours until he collapses and he admits to having killed his parents. The man was taken to Villa Fastiggi prison: for him the charge is double murder aggravated by cruelty and kinship.
