Harassment in the workplace, 20 cases reported in the Marche during the year: “It’s just the tip of the iceberg” | Today Treviso | News

SPRESIANO – About twenty cases of harassment at work reached the table of the equality councilor of the Province of Treviso last year, tip of the iceberg of a widespread phenomenon present in all working environments but which still today rarely emerges in its full extent through complaints. It took place today, June 25th, in Spresiano the second day of training for delegates, male and female trade union workers of the CISL Belluno Treviso to combat discrimination, harassment and violence in the workplace.

“The two initiatives were still conceived during the presentation phase of the ‘Female Skills: innovative lever for organisations’ project in response to the PARI call for Innovative Network Projects and Actions for gender equality and balance – he explains Nicola Brancher, secretary of CISL Belluno Treviso – when the operational protocol was being completed which was then signed on 13 December 2023 by 18 social partners, demonstrating that the CISL has the will to support a real process of cultural change”.

In the meeting, Alessia Salvador of the Cisl Belluno Treviso Gender Coordination, who participated in the drafting of the protocol and guidelines and member of the working table, illustrated how these documents were arrived at, the main contents and the planned initiatives .
Luca Mori of the labor policies department of the CISL of Veneto opened a reflection and discussion on bargaining and the role of the union in combating violence and harassment in the workplace which led the participants to imagine and define ways of implementing the protocol and guidelines in companies and territories, as well as concrete contractual solutions which the CISL managers present discussed. Paola Zamboni of the gender coordination of Cisl Veneto proposed a laboratory to equip operators and delegates, called to collaborate in the construction of a work environment that respects the dignity of each person, to recognize and manage cases of harassment in the workplace to equip. “We want to go beyond complaints and declarations of principle – he declares Lorella Benvegnù, secretary of CISL Belluno Treviso – taking on the commitment to make the protocol and the recent guidelines approved on 11 June known and disseminated, as well as to learn how to manage cases of harassment in the workplace and to study and explore how to implement the protocol in secondary agreements level”.

The initiative is coordinated by Elisa Ponzio of the CISL labor policies department who with Ialanapia Veneto, operational partner of the Female Skills project, collaborates with CISL Belluno Treviso in the planning and management of the training activity.
