CROTONE – “Only united can we win this battle! Crotone cannot afford to lose 600 jobs.” This is the cry that comes this morning from the second day of the permanent assembly of Abramo employees.
A cry that found an initial response in trade associations. In fact, it was decided that Thursday 27 June the city’s commercial activities will close from 12pm to express their solidarity with the employees of Abramo CC who have occupied the council chamber since yesterday where they are gathered in a permanent assembly to keep attention and ask for an immediate ministerial crisis table on a dispute employment which puts 1,000 jobs at risk in Calabria, more than half of which in Crotone.
This morning the assembly was attended by the president of Confcommercio Crotone, Antonio Casillo also representing all other trade associations, e Cristina Perri president of the women’s tertiary association of Crotone.
“The associations have expressed maximum solidarity for our affair and have confirmed their availability and closeness to every action that will be implemented” we read in a note from the employees who from June 30th they risk being fired if Tim does not extend the contract thanks to which the company continues to survive despite being in extraordinary administration
It has been agreed to organize an employee demonstration on Thursday 27 June in the Town Hall square with the temporary closure of commercial activities from 12pm.
The possible closure of Abramo CC and the dismissal of 600 people, in fact, would have a very serious negative impact on the local economy.
“We expect and hope for the presence of all the institutions of our territory, the Mayor, Councillors, Councillors, President of the Province, the Calabrian Parliamentarians and above all we invite all citizens to participate” write the Abramo CC employees who also asked for “the participation of the governor of the Calabria Region, President Roberto Occhiuto, who has become the promoter and spokesperson of our protest and who is supporting us in this difficult dispute”.
