Two pushers secured in one fell swoop with a roadside check, a brilliant intervention by the Carabinieri of the Termoli company, which resulted in two arrests. Right in the city, during a territorial control patrol, the soldiers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the local Carabinieri Company arrested two individuals who already had criminal records, a 26-year-old and a 24-year-old both originally from the province of Foggia, respectively the first in flagrancy of the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances and the second in implementation of a provision for the execution of concurrent sentences issued by the Larino judiciary. On this occasion the soldiers of the Carabinieri were in control of them while they were passing through this center driving a rental car, realizing that the 26-year-old threw a plastic bag out of the window which was promptly recovered by the soldiers and found to have 21 cellophane wrappers inside. containing heroin weighing approximately 15 grams in total. The narcotic substance found was therefore subjected to seizure, awaiting laboratory analyzes and subsequent deposit at the competent Crime Branch Office, while the man – having ascertained his criminal responsibilities in relation to the crime of detention for the purpose of dealing substances narcotics, foreseen and punished by art. 73 of Presidential Decree 309/1990 – was arrested and placed under house arrest at his home, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Larino. During the subsequent hearing before the competent Judicial Authority, the arrest was validated, since it was legitimately carried out and the measure of house arrest was confirmed against the 26-year-old. During the immediate investigations carried out during the check which led to the 26-year-old’s flagrant arrest, the military discovered that the other passenger of the vehicle, the 24-year-old also from the Foggia area, had a pending execution order for concurrent sentences. , issued by the Frentana Prosecutor’s Office, for possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances (art. 73 of Presidential Decree 309/1990), criminal association aimed at illicit trafficking of narcotic substances (art. 74 of Presidential Decree 309/1990) and driving a vehicle without a driving license as it was never obtained (art. 116 paragraphs 15 and 17 of the CdS).
Therefore, the latter was also arrested in execution of the aforementioned provision and, associated with the Larino prison, to serve the overall sentence of 5 years, 7 months and 27 days of imprisonment as well as 7 months of arrest.
