This morning the officers of the Forlì-Cesena Police Headquarters notified the provision suspension of the license for a duration of 15 days, to the owner of a food and drink business in Corso Mazzini. The measure was adopted following the checks carried out by the police forces at the premises, as part of the extraordinary services arranged by the Police Commissioner for the fight against urban decay, during which it emerged that the premises are regularly frequented by people who include numerous criminal records for crimes against persons, property and drugs.
The place, among other things, has been reported several times by residents of the area due to the harassing and violent conduct of customers, which create exasperation and concern among the inhabitants.

Furthermore, last June 17th, shortly after 6.00 pm, a fight broke out in front of the restaurant which involved around ten foreign citizens who fought with kicks and punches and who, then, following the immediate intervention of the Flying Squad present in the area for anti-drug services, they had fled. During the same evening, another brawl occurred between Pakistani citizens with the use of chains, again in front of the club, which was quelled by the intervention of the Flying Squads who reported all the people involved.
The business license, moreover, had already been suspended with a provision issued by the Police Commissioner at the end of Februaryo and subsequently, the mayor had ordered, upon reopening of the place, the limitation of operating hours, with a requirement of evening closing at 7.30 pm; measures which, however, in light of the multiple findings on the frequenting of the venue and the events that occurred a week ago, have evidently not had the necessary persuasive effect.

At the same time as the suspension measure, the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters in-depth checks on the people identified and reported by the Police after the brawl, gathering elements of responsibility such as to allow the Police Commissioner to impose six measures, to the “protagonists” of the violent dispute, banning access to public businesses in the historic center of Forlì for 2 years (the so-called “Daspo Urbano”), a measure whose violation constitutes a crime with a prison sentence of 1 to 3 years .
“I have adopted, once again, a measure to suspend the license for a public business located in Corso Mazzini – the words of the Police Commissioner of Forlì-Cesena, Claudio Mastromattei – As the head of the institution responsible, from a technical-operational point of view, for the protection of public safety, in my daily life I feel the responsibility of supporting the requests of the citizens of Forlì, which I share and understand. But I am aware that the issue of security and, above all, the problems connected to such a strong concentration of foreigners in the historic center and of public businesses managed and frequented exclusively by them do not only affect the profile of the skills of the Police Force. If we want to prevent areas of widespread illegality from taking root in our territory, we must address the issue with an overall vision that takes into account the various points of view and skills of all the institutions which, in their own right, can influence this evidence. We, of course, will always do “our part” in adhering to the strategies outlined by the Prefect within the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security and renewing the collaboration with the Municipal Authority on a daily basis”.
