Classes again this year 4^F and 4^G of the “De Amicis” elementary school in Trani participated in the “National Youth Award – Special Chemistry and Sustainability”, established from Federchimica, Assobase, PlasticsEurope Italia of Trani and the Italian Chemical Societywhere once again, the small champions of the Institute, led by teachers Monica Lauro and Roberta Pignatelli, won prizes.
In fact, the 4th F and the 4th G were classified at 1st first place of the Federchimica National Award in the sector “Basic Chemistry”, producing the interactive game “Ammonia Quiz“ taking home a prize equal to €2,440.00 for the purchase of technical-scientific equipment, books and teaching materials for the school.
Furthermore, they ranked at 2nd place in the Federchimica National Award in the section “Plastic”, with the video “Plastic is unbeatable when it is sustainable“. They therefore won a prize equal to €1,586.00 for the purchase of technical-scientific equipment, books and educational materials for the school.
The “National Youth Award – Special Chemistry and Sustainability” has the aim of stimulating the curiosity of children and to bring them closer to the scientific worldto understand the importance of chemistry for the quality of our life.
The students enthusiastically joined the projects for participation in the Award, which were included in an interdisciplinary path included in the annual educational-didactic planning and which had the objective of discovering how basic chemistry can contribute to the environmental, social and economic sustainability.
The Awards Ceremony for our students will take place on Friday 25 October 2024 in Genoa, during the Science Festival.
